I have been a patient at Berkeley Family Dental for the past few months and it has been such a pleasant experience. I have had about five visits and all the procedures were quick and as comfortable as they could be. Dr. Sharma and her staff are all very friendly. Lisa, the receptionist has been so great. She helped me schedule some of the visits for the short window that my daughter was at preschool and when that wasnt available they didnt mind if she sat in the room with me. I would highly reccomend this practice to anyone looking for a dentist.

For most of my life, visits to the dentist gave me anxiety and filled me with dread. However, my fear of dental appointments quickly disappeared once I started visiting Berkeley Family Dental, which was a couple years ago. In all my time of being a patient here, they have never failed to please me. The procedures are always trouble-free, fast, and painless. The welcoming way Dr. Sharma and her staff treat you is something you won't be able to find anywhere else, which is another reason why I am always happy with my visits here. I would definitely recommend Dr. Sharma for all your dental needs.

I went in for a cleaning as usual yesterday, and the hygienist did a fine job once again. Then, as usual, Indu took the chair to check my teeth -- and found a tiny spot cavity developing at the gum line! I felt the slight pull of her instrument as it hooked into it. She took a clear picture of it for me to see.

Then she told me that I could come back to get it filled, or have it done right there and now, because she finished early with her last patient. About 20 or so minutes later, I was out of there, after the fastest, most stress-free and caring filling session I ever had! It was extraordinary!

I've been with Berkeley Family Dental for about a decade, I'm guessing. And yes, in the beginning, it was disorganized, but these days it has evolved into an incredible dental practice! Thank you, Indu and all your helpers!

Having a great doctor is important and Dr. Sharma is my dentist in Berkely, CA for a few years now. Her entire team is professional and flexible. Recently due to personal emergencies I had to cancel my appointments at the last minute and her team was easy to work with to rescheudle my appointment. I've been visiting to Dr. Sharma's office since 2012, after I failed to find a professional, skillful, competitive and honest dental office for longtime. Dr. Sharma's staffs are very helpful with my appointments, finance and understanding my treatments.

The front office staff (Lisa) is very handy in putting my appoints (even in very short period) and she never forgets to send reminders before 24 hours of my appoints.

My dental health was in a mess before I consulted Dr. Sharma. I must thank Dr. Sharma for taking a good care of my tooth, and keeping them healthy. Glad I'm found her and would definitely recommend her.

Finding a good dentist in not easy. I have been through the cycles a few times dealing with unethical and unprofessional dentists who are concerned more about their pockets then you long term dental health. I have been misguided a few times so it was wonderful to find someone who explains the process with full disclosure and gives you the liberty to make the best decision for you.

Dr. Sharma is very professional and thorough with her work. The staff is kind and very helpful through the process. We are glad to finally find a dentist that we can trust.

I've been a patient here for 6 years without complaints. However on my visit this week on Monday 1/22/18 my hygienist was constantly coughing, Asking her if she had cold she replied "I have a cough" Well now so do I and its kept me up all night and I feel terrible having contracted her cold. I emailed Dr Sharma a few times & her response was that she wasn't aware that her hygienist was ill. I told her that it's her responsibility to make sure that her staff are not actively symptomatic when treating... gloves and masks non withstanding. I have asked for a refund for that day... a paltry $60. I am waiting for a response. As a retired oncology RN I'm shocked that protocols aren't in place to protect patients on such a basic level. I will update this if I get a response from Dr Sharma

Dr Sharma I think enough time has elapsed for me to assume that you are uninterested in discussing this. That's unfortunate. It so easily may have turned into a positive for you if at least you had engaged in some sort of dialogue. Instead you choose to ignore my legitimate concerns or address my suggestions. I am still feeling sick with a relentless hacking cough and the undisputed fact that your hygienist treated me coughing through the entire visit. What you have accomplished (unless you choose to discuss this with me) is losing me as client. Please be advised: I will also be filing a complaint with the California State Dental Board. Do the right thing.

Dr Sharma just called me & told me her computer was down which is why she hadn't received any of my emails besides the first one. She was extremely concerned about my illness & immediately offered to refund my copay for the visit. I want to thank her for her response to this unfortunate incident and her willingness to set up protocols to keep her patients safe. Thank you Dr Sharma!!!

Dr. Sharma is excellent! I have been seeing her for 3 years now I believe, and I am very happy with the care I receive from her and her staff. Prior to seeing Dr. Sharma I had some pretty traumatic experiences at the dentist and was quite scared of getting any work done. Slowly, since I have seen Dr. Sharma, my fear of dentistry is subsiding, and this is due to her excellent technique with administering shots and quick work while prepping/drilling/filling. I would highly recommend her to anyone, in fact I recently convinced my wife to start seeing her. I would also agree with some of the other comments that her administrative staff used to be difficult to deal with at times, but now they are extremely professional and efficient.

I've been seeing her for 4 years now. Sure, the office management was not good in the early days. But it's fantastic now: efficient and reliable. Dr. Sharma and her clinical team have always been competent and compassionate. Reaffirmed on a recent emergency visit where she thoroughly investigated a potential gum infection and charged a very affordable rate for it all. Glad I have found her as a dentist I like and can rely on.

I came to this office because a friend recommended Dr. Sharma, and I was not disappointed. Dr. Sharma is one of the most professional dentists I have ever had. Her staff is highly organized and very friendly, especially the office manager Vik, who personally took the time to get to know me as Dr. Sharma was finishing up with another patient. I was fearful my insurance plan wouldn't be accepted, but the office fit me right in at an extremely reasonable cost. Visiting Berkeley Family Dental was a pleasant experience and I look forward to seeing Dr. Sharma soon for my next appointment.

I have four crowns on my front teeth. One tooth broke off in the crown and came out, leaving me snaggle toothed. Yikes! I saw Dr. Sharma the same day I called and she suggested a couple of options, root canal with post and crown, though not likely to last she said, and implant and crown. Within two days I had a temporary tooth that matches so perfectly that no one can tell. The implant and crown will cost nearly $5000! Dr. Sharma expedited the delivery of the temp tooth as it usually takes 2 weeks! She understood how I felt about about the lack of a front tooth. She has been so understanding, patient with all my questions and anxiety, professional and caring, and is working with me around the finances. She has done a crown for me before and it was excellent. So, I have no doubt this will be the same. The receptionist, Lisa, the assistant, Andrea, and the office manager, Vic have all had a role in this production of my new tooth and have been caring, professional and provided excellent service. I have yet to decide which option I'm going to choose, or if I will just keep the temp tooth for awhile, and am very pleased with the outstanding service I have received at this office.

I love my dentist! I have been to many dentists in my life, and Dr. Sharma is the best of them all (with apologies to my cousin). She greets me with a warm smile, and has great technique administering novocaine. She is considerate and careful, and she recently did a wonderful job on porcelain veneers for my lower front teeth. They look and feel great. I have complete confidence in her, trust her 100 percent, and recommend her to all my friends.

I recently switched dentists. I chose Dr Yang's business because it's right next to Alta Bates...that in my book...gives his office instant credibility...as opposed to those shopping mall dentist offices...lol. Well, but I still had to find out if I had made the right choice. I was assigned to Dr. Taylor...and let me tell you...she simply RULES. Don't be fooled by her youth,,,she's an amazing dentist. I was a bit intimidated at first...because I was in for two deep cleaning sessions...and that procedure was very intimidating to me...lol. But Dr Taylor made me feel at ease...she's very personable and chatty...automatically put on music to make me relax...and is really caring about people's needs. She kept double-checking to make sure I was not in pain whatsoever...she even gave me an extra dose of anesthetics on my lower left section just to make sure I was pain free. How cool was that? She's also a great educator...and instructed me on how to further take care of my teeth. The price was amazing...I had taken estimates from other providers...and none matched Dr Yang's prices...very reasonable...they are clearly not there to make themselves rich...they really care about people's teeth. Dr Yang was not my personal dentist...but I also met him...and he also seemed very affable. My sister recently sought Dr. Yang as well...and she also had a great experience with him. Now my reward is to get teeth whitening...I'm scheduled at the end of September...Dr Yang is offering teeth bleaching services for only $250 right now...how in the heck can you beat that price??? The only negative is that you have to wait a while between appointments...some offices can see you the next day...a Dr Yang appointment can take up to a month...that's because it's only Dr Yang and Dr Taylor right now...but I was informed Dr Mendoza is coming soon...so that will help with the bookings. Oh, and Dr Yang no longer validates parking from the parking lot...but there's off street parking as well...just find a spot...lol. Based on my three meetings there so far...heck yeah...that place deserves FIVE stars. Overall...a great experience...I have finally found my permanent dentist in Dr Taylor. Dr Yang is no slouch himself...lol. P.S. Yes, they honor DeltaCare/Delta Dental

I was very impressed with Dr. Indu Sharma's office and the quality of her treatment. She took time to explain me everything in detail about the treatment. Her staff is very friendly and professional. Last week, I got the rare experience. I visited this dental office. Office has honored my appointment time and I was called in exactly at time I have been given.

I have to repeat again. Dr. Indu is gentle and very knowledgeable. As usual, she explained me what is happening. What is recommended next action and how shall I provide future risk.

Office staff is very prompt & efficient. My insurance related tasks were already taken care.

Dr. Sharma is great, she's approachable in the office and the office is conveniently located, a couple blocks from the BART station. They were able to accommodate my needs, and the procedures I required! They ensured I was receiving the necessary treatments and checked up on me when I had almost forgotten about them!

Let's be real, as a college student I hate having people look over how I'm doing health-wise, let alone have a dentist look at my teeth and automatically know that the amount of coffee I've been drinking has begun to effect me negatively. But Dr. Sharma was outstanding. First of all, her staff was friendly and jovial. I walk in and five minutes later the front desk lady was cracking jokes with me. After a quick check-up by one of her assistants, who was extremely gentle when examining my mouth, I was finally introduced to Dr. Sharma. She was so professional and easy to talk to. We talked about maintaining good dental hygiene even with the hectic college life and she even gave me some tips on how to do so. I only needed a cleaning this time around, but I know for sure that if I need anything else I will definitely go back to her. I was extremely satisfied with the service at Berkeley Family Dental, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for attentive, gentle, and professional dental care.

She not only took care of filling in a chipped tooth, but with no extra charge went after the adjacent tooth which was also developing problems, and at no extra charge!  Skilled preventive dentistry at its best, delivered with a smile and reassurance!  Indu is tops in my book!

One year later: had as usual, a top cleaning visit with her, and realized a few days later I'd need a new sonic toothbrush. I emailed her for advice, and she responded promptly, in person!! How often can you say that about a dentist? She and her staff are tops!!

Dr Sharma is gentle, genuine and personable, I got a few fillings and a bridge done with her and she made me feel safe in her hands. i tend to cringe when i think of a dentist, but she was very gentle through the whole procedure.
I am  very happy with her service  and will be going back to her for more work next year. I highly recommend Dr.Sharma.

Dr. Sharma is so great.  I have been very lucky with dentists and while I was sad to leave my last dentist (because my insurance at work changed so he was no longer in network), I am so happy I landed here. Dr. Sharma is so kind and she explains everything very thoroughly.  She tells me all of my options and spends a good amount of time with me (which is rare for dentists to do in my experience!). My last dental appointment with  Dr. Sharma was excellent!! From the moment I walk in I am greeted with a smile and always brought back on time. The hygienist is great and always makes me feel comfortable. I had dental fears as a child, but Dr. Sharma and her staff have made it so much easier to have my teeth cleaned.
I love the new technology especially the digital x-rays!! I appreciate the honesty and no hidden fees!! Dr. Sharma is very down to earth and her honesty as well as integrity is what keeps me coming back.

Still a very happy customer after almost one year.  The staff is superb. When you enter Dr. Sharma's office I am always greeted warmly with a great big smile by the receptionist Natasha. Sadly, Dr. Sharma is not a "preferred provider" on my current dental insurance plan. I choose to pay extra out-of-pocket because I like the service I get here and don't want to switch dentists.

This is the only dental office I've been to that is on-time with appointments and don't keep you waiting. The office is clean and uses state-of-the-art equipment.

The hygienist is always friendly (even when it's obvious I don't floss as much as I should) and they give constructive suggestions on how I could improve my oral health and hygiene.  I've never felt like they were up-selling products or services. They're merely suggestions, and they don't care if you buy stuff from them or from Amazon or Target or nowhere at all.

Everyone in this office is the best at what they do. You couldn't ask for anyone to take better care of your teeth and gums. Healthy gums don't bleed. I had bleeding gums for my entire life until I changed to this dental office. My hygienist Michelle treated my gum disease and coached me in improving my home routine until my gum disease was in remission. NO more bleeding gums!  

These guys are the best! If you are looking for a fantastic dental office, I highly recommend this one.

I first saw Dr. Sharma when I was in serious pain. I'd seen another dentist who told me to come back if the pain got worse. I somehow didn't trust him. So I looked on Yelp for a dentist, and Dr. Sharma came highly recommended. She immediately diagnosed that I had damage to a tooth, and I needed a root canal right away. It was a complex procedure and she had an endodontist do it, and her office got me in to the endodontist the same day. Dr. Sharma followed up with me, and also filled three cavities I had that the first dentist had overlooked. Her manner was gentle, and she explained what she was going to do before she did it, so I felt at ease. She's very friendly and caring. I'm glad I see her regularly now.

I was referred by other dentist as I had curved roots for root canal my case was little complicated as I was told by other dentist when I came to see dr Sharma she was very proffesional and very reasonable in charges and she explained me step by step procedure that helped a lot ,I was amazed when she gave me shot I had no pain I don,t like dentist a lot but dr Sharma is a keeper she is best in what she does .staff was very helpful I will refer my friends and family .

Dr. Indu is great. I was expecting to see another doctor when I discovered this office, and I was surprised to be greeted by her instead. I am quite happy to have had her service. She ended up finding 2 cavities (d'oh!) after my routine cleaning and I came in the next week reluctantly. I was trippin' for no reason! She expertly numbed my mouth with ZERO pain, taking the care to massage my cheek to distract me from my fear of needles. That was the hard part. She took care of both cavities within 20 minutes and I was out of there. She rocks and I can tell she cares quite a bit about her patients. Good doc. Go see her!

With my friend from Berkeley, I visited this Clinic.
It is very conveniently located. There is parking space but there are free shuttles from BART which are really helpful. After warm welcome, Clinic staff made him comfortable. Dr Indu did through examination. She saved his tooth which was having pain. Also she discussed all problem areas and provided tips for healthy teeth. My friend was extremely happy and completed his few long pending dental work.
Luckily I got immediately appointment. I completed my last preventive care treatment of the year.  It was really painless dentistry. Office is really clean & all equipments are pretty new. DR. Indu also guided me about taking care of my existing bridge.

Dr. Indu is very knowledgeable, professional and an expert in her field with a highly trained staff. I HIGHLY recommend him to ALL my friends and family!

Had a visit with Dr Sharma and a cleaning with Michelle.  Both were fabulous.  I did wait for 20 min prior to my appointment, but that wasn't bad.  Otherwise, Dr Sharma was knowledgable and kind.  Michelle who was the detal hygenist was gentle and considerate and communicative througout.  All in all a very good experience.

So as a context, I have had, well, not great dentists in the past.  Whenever I needed work done (a cleaning or a cavity filled), it always came along with a lot of discomfort or straight-up pain.

With Dr. Sharma and her staff, I have finally been able to put that fear to rest.  With my initial cleaning, as well as my two cavities, I have experienced only slight discomfort (the unavoidable discomfort of having things shoved into your mouth).

I have had no pain with the drillings, beyond the first pinch of the local anesthetics.  Her technicians are very friendly women, and her desk staff are solid.

Dr. Sharma is very down to earth, warm and skillful.  I easily relax in her care.

One thing I did experience on all three of my visits was waiting.  I was there on time for our appointment, but they were not.  Dr. Sharma did acknowledge and apologies herself for one of these.

I know the medical profession from the inside, and know that it can be challenging to keep up with patients that come in late themselves and other issues.  Nonetheless, these experiences convey to me that either there is a lack of respect, or that the office is not self-regulated enough to get me in on time.  The longest I waited was 20 minutes extra.  This is the reason for 4 stars.

Besides this, I have no critical feedback.  Go see Sharma!  You will be happy you did =)

I love Dr sharma. She is honest and kind.
She made perfect crown for implant. The crown looks same as my real teeth. I am happy with her job.

Dr. Sharma is a great dentist. She is warm, friendly and very good at her job. I've been to this office three times and never had to wait for my appointment. Her staff is all very friendly and they accept the Delta Dental insurance I get as a UC Berkeley grad student. Best of all, I was very nervous about getting fillings replaced after a bad experience at an earlier dentist and she was so gentle. I barely felt the shots at all - they were far less painful than my flu shot! She was very patient when I requested another shot for my bottom tooth to numb it more and she was very careful and precise with my fillings, taking a her time to ensure that my bite aligned properly.

Overall, I've had a great experience with Dr. Sharma and would highly recommend her!
